There is something about your prize wheel that you should know. If you do not take the time to find out how it should be stored, you might go to take it out of storage and find out that it has warped and will no longer spin. As scary as this predicament can seem, you can avoid it by simply following a few instructions on proper storage. If you are careful and treat your spin wheel with respect, you will find that it can last through thousands of spins without even showing signs of wear and tear.

Here are a few tips to follow for proper spin wheel storage:

1. Moisture and Heat can wreak havoc on your wheel

You might have noticed when you bought the prize wheel that it was made of virgin PETG and ABS plastics. What this means for you is that if you store it in areas that have high levels of humidity and heat like basements and attics, you could potentially ruin your prize wheel. Heat and moisture can get into this type of plastic and cause it to warp out of shape. To avoid this, consider storing the wheel in a hall closet instead of leaving it in the basement or garage when you are not using it.

2. Keep it on the floor

Do not under-estimate how much damage a short fall can do to a spin wheel. Just because the clicker is made of extremely tough nylon plastic does not mean that a good fall could not break it off the pointer arm or cause damage to the wheel.

Even if you store the wheel properly, you still run the risk of damaging your wheel if you use it in temperatures of above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Always try to position the wheel in the shade, even on cooler days. Also, make sure that you are not transporting it in a hot trunk or near a heating vent in the car.
